In 2019 we came to the North Coast of the Dominican Republic on holiday. It took us only two weeks to decide to buy land. In 2021 we came with four suitcases, no Spanish and no construction or hospitality experience. Six months later we opened Kibayo. We’re dreamers and hard workers at heart. We love making connections and creating impactful experiences.

FAQ.
Do we need 24 people or confirmed dates?
No. Your group can be smaller, and an idea is enough to start.
Use the Trip Builder to see what the villa costs per person with your group size.
Will there be other guests?
No.
When your group books Kibayo, the venue is yours.
There is a neighbouring access path between the villa and garden, but Kibayo itself isn’t shared with other hotel guests.
Food and drinks?
Only if you want it. Our Kibayo meals are Dominican food from the island: fruit, vegetables, eggs, plantain and more.
Drinks: fruit-infused water, juices, Dominican coffee and herbal teas.
Another cuisine, special diets or a chef’s dinner? We work with a wide network of freelance chefs, some of them very high level. You decide.
Can you organise activities for us?
Yes.
That’s a big part of the idea.
Surfing, kiting, waterfalls, canyoning, horse riding, wellness, massages, catamarans, transport, DJs, live music and more can all be arranged.

Can we change things later?
Yes, up to 30 days before arrival. Plans change, that’s human.
After that, our chefs, artists and suppliers need to know where they stand. Many are freelancers with their own schedules.
Can we celebrate or host an event?
Yes.
Birthdays, dinners and gatherings are welcome after approval.
Commercial events, or inviting more than 24 people, are possible after approval and for an extra fee.
Can we play music?
Yes, we love music.
After 11 PM, a permit is needed above certain volume levels. Our silent-disco headsets are another option.
Is Cabarete safe?
Yes. Many people keep coming back to Cabarete because of the people: kind, warm and welcoming. Crime is not a big thing here.
Kibayo is gated and our team is around during your stay.
How do we book?
A 30% deposit of the stay secures your dates.
The rest of the stay, meals and activities are due 30 days before arrival.
What’s the cancellation policy?
Cancel 60+ days before arrival: 100% refund.
Cancel 30–60 days before arrival: 50% of the deposit back.
Cancel within 30 days of arrival: the deposit is non-refundable.
Check-in, check-out and minimum stay?
Check-in from 3 PM.
Check-out at 11 AM.
Minimum stay is 1 night.

Kite Beach: around 5 minutes’ drive
Cabarete town: around 10 minutes’ drive
Encuentro surf beach: around 10 minutes’ drive
Pets?
Ask us. They’re welcome with prior approval.

We’re pretty relaxed.
We just ask that your group respects the place and the people.
- We love music, so play it. After 11 PM, a permit is needed above certain volume levels.
- Only registered guests unless an event has been approved.
